ಎಣ್ಣೆತೆಗೆ eṇṇe tege to extract oil (as from seed); ಎಣ್ಣೆ ಬೀರು eṇṇe bīru to distribute or pour oil for the oil lamp at the temple and at some houses (as a religious observance by Vīraśaiva community); ಎಣ್ಣೆಮಾಡು eṇṇe māḍu to put oil into the container of an oil-lamp; ಎಣ್ಣೆವಳ eṇṇevaḷa = ಎಣ್ಣೆವಾಳ; ಎಣ್ಣೆವಾಳ eṇṇevāḷa a bowl-shaped cooking vessel that is broad, shallow, with a handle, and made of metal used for frying food in oil etc.; a frying pan; ಎಣ್ಣೆ ಸುರಿ eṇṇe suri to put oil into the container of an oil-lamp; 2. (fig.) to make worse; to make more troublesome; ಎಣ್ಣೆ ಹಚ್ಚು eṇṇe haccu to smear with oil (as in massaging, oil-bath, etc.); ಎಣ್ಣೆ ಹಾಕು eṇṇe hāku (fig.) to make worse; to cause to increase another's fury; ಎಣ್ಣೆಸ್ನಾನ eṇṇe snāna a bath taken after massaging the body with oil; ಎಣ್ಣೆ ಬಂದಾಗ ಕಣ್ಣು ಮುಚ್ಚಿಕೊ eṇṇe bandāga kaṇṇu mucciko (prov.) to show indifference when the things are favourable; to disdain when fortune smiles; ಎಣ್ಣೆ ಅಳೆದ ಮಾನದ ಜಿಡ್ಡು ಹೋದೀತೆ? eṇṇe aḷeda mānada jiḍḍu hōdīte? (prov.) he who handles pitch shall foul his fingers; ಎಣ್ಣೆ ಅಳೆದ ಮಾನದಂತೆ eṇṇe aḷeda mānanadante (a simile) he who involves with others in a good effort, will earn unintentionally some benefits for himself too; ಎಣ್ಣೆ ಬತ್ತಿಗೆ ನೇರ eṇṇe battige nēra (prov.) (said about one's income) just sufficient to meet the essential expenses; 'hand to mouth'; ಎಣ್ಣೆ ಬರುವಾಗ ಗಾಣ ಮುರಿಯಿತು eṇṇe baruvāga gāṇa muriyitu (prov.) misfortune played havoc at the last moment; ಕಳ್ಳ ಹೊಕ್ಕಮನೆಗೆ ಎಣ್ಣೆ ದಂಡ kaḷḷa hokka manege eṇṇe daṇḍa (prov.) it is useless to spend money and time on futile corrective measures; ಉರಿಯುವ ಬೆಂಕಿಗೆ ಎಣ್ಣೆ ಸುರಿ uriyuva beŋkige eṇṇe suri (prov.) to cause to enrage further a person who is already furious; ಮೈಗೆ ಎಣ್ಣೆ ಹಚ್ಚಿಕೊಂಡಿರು maige eṇṇe haccikoṇḍiru (ironical saying) to be ready for strong reprimand or heavy beatings.
